Defect description

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL CYLINDERS MOBILE TIMING BELT TENSIONER IS DIMENSIONALLY INCORRECT.

Safety risk

THE MOBILE TENSIONER CAN COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE TIMING BELT COVER WHICH COULD CAUSE THE TIMING BELT TO FAIL AND CONSEQUENTLY STOP THE ENGINE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Manufacturer remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE EXISTING MOBILE TIMING BELT TENSIONER USING UPDATED COMPONENTS. THE RECALLBEGAN ON APRIL 4, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DUCATI AT 1-408-253-0499.
