Defect description

Supreme Corporation (Supreme) is recalling certain model year 2007-2009 Silver Crown and Ponyxpress vehicles manufactured January 24, 2007, to June 30, 2010 and equipped with entry steps that electrically extend and retract. The bolt that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may become unstable.

Safety risk

Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury.

Manufacturer remedy

Supreme will notify owners and advise them to have a Lippert Components dealer install a retainer bracket, free of charge. The recall began on June 20, 2016. Owners may contact Lippert Components customer service at 1-574-537-8900 or Supreme customer service at 1-574-642-0800.
