Defect description

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Dutchmen Kodiak recreational trailers manufactured June 10, 2015 through April 6, 2016. In the affected vehicles, the two sections of LED rope lights that serve as backlighting for the countertop each have exposed ends which may short against each other, possibly resulting in an electrical short.

Safety risk

An electrical short increases the risk of a fire.

Manufacturer remedy

Keystone notified owners, and dealers will install a heat shrink tube over one of the LED rope light ends, free of charge. The recall began on June 8, 2016. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 16-255.
