Defect description

Terex South Dakota (TSD) is recalling certain model year 2009-2014 Terex TC, and TCX hybrid electric trucks manufactured June 8, 2009, to July 30, 2014 and equipped with aerial devices. The affected vehicles may be improperly wired, and as a result, the aerial boom may move unintentionally when the hydraulic tools are being used.

Safety risk

Inadvertent boom movement can cause the platform to strike objects in the work area, increasing the risk of injury to the operator.

Manufacturer remedy

TSD will notify owners, and dealers will install a diode and alter the wiring to correct the issue, free of charge. The recall began on November 20, 2016. Owners may contact TSD customer service at 1-800-982-8975. TSD's number for this recall is SN631.
