Defect description

Terex Advance Mixer, Inc. (Terex) is recalling certain 2023 Commander vehicles equipped with Composilite SC20 Lift Axles. The bearing journals may not be fully seated in the steering knuckle assemblies, preventing the proper installation of the wheel end hub assemblies.

Safety risk

An improperly installed wheel end hub assembly can leak oil, causing the axle spindles to loosen or fracture, increasing the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer remedy

Dealers will inspect and replace the steering knuckle assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 5, 2024. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-800-678-5961.
