Defect description

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Freightliner Custom Chassis XCR and 2024 XBS, XCM chassis. The remote fuel filter hoses may become separated from the fittings, which can result in a fuel leak and a lack of fuel supply to the engine.

Safety risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a lack of fuel can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer remedy

Cummins will replace the fuel filter hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 8, 2024. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 800-745-8000. DTNA's number for this recall is F1003.
