Defect description

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Macan Electric vehicles. The headlights may be too bright and exceed the maximum light output, which may adversely affect the vision of drivers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Safety risk

Headlights that are excessively bright can reduce visibility for oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer remedy

Dealers will reprogram the headlight control unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2025. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ARC5.
