Defect description
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH MERITOR RHP SUSPENSIONS. THESE TRAILERS EXCEED THE BRAKE ACTUATION AND RELEASE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS."
Safety risk
INCREASED BRAKING DISTANCE CAN OCCUR INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.
Manufacturer remedy
DEALERS WILL CHANGE THE NUMBER OF HOSES AND FITTINGS IN THE AIR SYSTEM.
