Defect description

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE FUEL LINE CAN POTENTIALLY CONTACT HEATED METAL PARTS OF THE MOTORCYCLE AND MELT.

Safety risk

THIS CONDITION COULD OCCUR WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING AND COULD RESULT IN FUEL LEAKAGE. FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.

Manufacturer remedy

DEALERS REPLACED THE FUEL LINE WITH ONE THAT HAS HIGHER THERMAL RESISTANCE PROPERTIES. ALSO NEW FUEL LINES WERE REROUTED TO FURTHER REDUCE EXPOSURE TO HEATED METAL. ALL MOTORCYCLES HAVE BEEN REPAIRED. NO OWNER NOTIFICATION WILL BE NECESSARY.
