Defect description

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS, BUS CHASSIS-COWL, AND BASIC CHASSIS MODELS EQUIPPED WITH CUMMINS 5.9L 160 HORSEPOWER ROTARY INJECTION PUMP DIESEL ENGINES. THE ACCELERATOR RETURN SPRINGS CAN FRACTURE.

Safety risk

THE ACCELERATOR MAY NOT RETURN TO IDLE INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.

Manufacturer remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THESE SPRINGS WITH A TORSION SPRING DESIGN.
