The Heil Co. (Heil) is recalling certain 2016-2026 front loader garbage trucks equipped with replacement CNG tailgate ladder kits. An incorrect bolt may have been installed in one of the ladder legs, allowing the bolt to contact and damage the CNG cylinders.
Safety risk
A damaged CNG tank can leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire.
Manufacturer remedy
Heil will replace the ladder bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 8, 2026. Owners may contact Heil's customer service at 1-866-275-4345. Heil's number for this recall is SN-26-001 .
The Heil Co. (Heil) is recalling certain 2021-2022 front end loader garbage trucks. The vertical welds on the automatic front loader (AFL) arm may be missing, causing the arm to crack and fall.
Safety risk
A falling arm increases the risk of injury.
Manufacturer remedy
Heil will inspect and repair or replace the AFL arm as necessary, free of charge. All affected trucks were repaired by July 28, 2023. Owners may contact Heil's customer service at 1-866-275-4345.
