Defect description

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 XL750, 2025 CMX1100, and CRF1100 motorcycles. The crankcase sealing bolt may have been improperly manufactured, which can cause the engine to leak oil onto the rear tire.

Safety risk

Oil on the rear tire may cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Manufacturer remedy

Dealers will replace the crankcase sealing bolt, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2025. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KS2.

Owner complaints

A complaint is one person's report to a federal agency. It is not a finding.
