Defect description

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB and CESB school buses. The driver's window panel and entrance door vertical joints may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."

Safety risk

The body panels may separate during a crash, reducing structural integrity and increasing the risk of injury.

Manufacturer remedy

Dealers will install rivets along the driver's side window seam and entrance door seam, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 8, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26511.

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2022-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The high voltage disconnect switch may fail to shut off power to the battery.

Safety risk

Switch failure may lead to unintentionally working on an energized high voltage battery, increasing the risk of injury or death by electrical shock.

Manufacturer remedy

Dealers will repair the high voltage disconnect connector bypass circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26505. Safety risk

A parking brake that is not engaged as expected when the driver releases the brakes may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of crash.

Manufacturer remedy

Defect description

Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus EVSB and 2024-2025 CESB school buses. The brake caliper mounting bolts may not have been properly tightened, allowing the brake caliper to detach from the anchor plate.

Safety risk

A detached brake caliper can cause a loss of braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer remedy

Navistar will inspect, tighten, and replace any missing bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 4, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar Customer Service at 800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24513.
