Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Essex, 2020-2022 King Aire and London Aire motorhomes. A machining defect may cause pressure to build in the power steering pump and break the shaft seal, resulting in a loss of power steering assist.

A blank instrument cluster display may be missing critical information such as the vehicle's speed and warning lights, which can increase the risk of a crash.

The adhesive that bonds the vented portion of the window may fail.

Manufacturer remedy
On behalf of Newmar, Shyft Group Inc. will coordinate the recall repair and notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering gear mounting bolts and washers, free of charge. Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Mountain Aire, Essex, and King Aire motorhomes. The bedroom fascia header may fall unexpectedly onto the bed.
Safety risk
If the fascia header falls while there is an occupant in the bed, it can increase the risk of an injury.
Manufacturer remedy
Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will add screws and brackets to properly secure the fascia header, free of charge. The recall began September 17, 2019. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300.
