Defect description

AIR COMPRESSOR GOVERNOR SENSING LINE DOES NOT SENSE BOTH FRONT AND REAR BRAKE SYSTEM RESERVOIR PRESSURE. A FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM AIR LEAK WILL NOT BE SENSED BY THE GOVERNOR AND THE COMPRESSOR WILL FAIL TO RESUPPLY THE FRONT AIR SYSTEM CAUSING A REDUCTION OF THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE.

Safety risk

THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE LOSS OF BRAKING CAPABILITY AND INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.

Manufacturer remedy

DEALERS WILL RELOCATE THE ONE WAY CHECK VALVE IN THE INLET AIR LINE TO THE REAR SERVICE TANK AND A PRESSURE PROTECTION VALVE WILL BE ADDED TO ALLOW THE GOVERNOR TO SENSE BOTH FRONT AND REAR BRAKE SYSTEM RESERVOIR PRESSURE.
