Defect description

ON CERTAIN NEW "FACE-LIFT" MOTOR COACHES AND MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH INDEPENDENT FRONT SUSPENSION, A MODIFICATION WAS MADE TO THE STEERING GEARBOX MOUNTING SUPPORT. THE SUPPORT MAY DEVELOP STRESS CRACKS UNDER HEAVY LOAD CONDITIONS.

Safety risk

THE STEERING GEARBOX MAY BECOME LOOSE AFFECTING STEERING CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Manufacturer remedy

DEALERS WILL WELD THREE (3) REINFORCEMENT BRACKETS TO THE GEAR BOX SUPPORT. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MAY 2, 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT PREVOST AT 1-418-831-5432.
