Defect description

THE TEN(10) MOUNTS WHICH ARE USED TO ATTACH THE AMBULANCE MODULE TO THE MODIFIED LIGHT TRUCK CHASSIS CAN FRACTURE DUE TO METAL FATIGUE.

Safety risk

FRACTURE OF THE MOUNTS CAN CAUSE VEHICLE HANDLING PROBLEMS WHICH MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.

Manufacturer remedy

GUSSET PLATES WILL BE INSTALLED ON ALL VEHICLES CONNECTING THE LONGITUDINAL BEAMS TO THE TRANSVERSE BEAMS. ALSO, IF INSPECTION DISCLOSES A FRACTURED MOUNT, A STEEL REINFORCEMENT BAR WILL BE INSTALLED TO FURTHER STABLILIZE THE MOUNT. THESE VEHICLES WILL ALSO BE RE-INSPECTED ANNUALLY BY ROAD RESCUE OR ITS DEALERS.
