Defect description

KZRV, L.P. (KZ) is recalling certain 2014 Sportsmen, model S290lKSS, towable travel trailers manufactured November 4, 2013 through February 24, 2014. The affected trailers were built with axles not designed to accomodate the weight carrying capacity of the trailer.

Safety risk

Overloaded axles may result in failure of the suspension or the axle, and/or tire blowouts, resulting in an increased risk of a crash or injury.

Manufacturer remedy

KZRV, L.P. will notify owners, and dealers will replace the axles with ones that have the correct load capacity, free of charge. The recall began on May 2, 2014. Owners may contact KZRV L.P. at 1-800-768-4016.

Owner complaints

A complaint is one person's report to a federal agency. It is not a finding.
